Bob Troxel’s Guide Service specializing in Smallmouth Bass and Walleye charters!

“Lake Erie, Walleye capital of the world…”  This has been a statement made by many who have had the opportunity to fish this great body of water.  Many tournament anglers believe Lake Erie to produce larger and greater numbers of Walleye than any other body of water.  In Captain Bob’s words, “Lake Erie is by far the greatest fishery I have fished.”  Fishing starts at ice out, usually in early March, and continues through late November.  Early Walleye fishing techniques require a slow lure presentation.  Some of the more popular early spring baits are vibrating blade baits, worm harnesses, and heavy metal spoons and jigs, sometimes tipped with Minnows.  As the season progresses into post spawn, the Walleye start to move into deeper water, where weight forward and small weighted harnesses cover more water and work throughout the rest of the year.

Captain Bob begins his Lake Erie charters for Walleye in April and continues through the end of October.  Bookings are available throughout the year, with many repeat customers.  The basic Walleye charter can take up to six people, including gear.  The average day lasts about eight hours, dock to dock.  Rods, reels, lures, live bait and ice are included in the basic Walleye charter.  Executive charters are also available upon request.  See the “FAQ” page to ensure you have the necessary equipment to make your day enjoyable.

Year after year, Lake Erie produces some of the finest Smallmouth Bass and Walleye fishing in the country.  The Western Basin, the primary fishing area on Lake Erie, has thousands of humps, points, shoals, and isolated wrecks to drop a lure or live bait into for an awaiting lunker.  Captain Bob invites you to enjoy a relaxing day of fishing on Lake Erie’s scenic Western Basin.  Captain Bob Troxel, a seasoned professional Bass tournament fisherman and guide, welcomes you aboard his spacious 30-foot Chris Craft, “This is Reality”.  Lake Erie is renowned for trophy Smallmouth Bass and huge Walleye.  It can’t be beat for great fishing and lasting memories.  Whether you’re an experienced angler or a beginner, Captain Bob is dedicated to providing a safe, productive, and enjoyable outing.
